Dublin Eats: Fish Shack Cafe

Fish Shack Dublin Parliament Street Sarenabee

This afternoon I had lunch at the Fish Shack Cafe. They just expanded and opened a new location on Parliament Street. It was my second time eating here and I highly recommend it for lunch and dinner.

The interior of the restaurant was extremely modern. The warm wood and teal colors are pleasing to the eye. The decoration reminded me of being back in Florida, very nostalgic. It was so refreshing walking into such a cool place in the city center. Everything was spotless & clean.

The menu was filled with delicious sounding dishes; it was hard to choose what I wanted to eat. Seeing the plates leave the kitchen and being placed in front of customers, I noticed they were very consistent and looked so mouthwatering. It helped me decide what I was going to order. As an appetizer, I started with the spicy calamari served with sweet chili jam. If you know me, you’d know I’m not a fan of sauces and enjoy everything plain – however the sweet chili was an excellent pairing with the calamari. Yes, the sauces are all served in shells.

As my main, I ended up ordering the fresh Galway steamed mussels. They were cooked in a white wine sauce. This did not disappoint! The portion sizes were exactly what you needed to leave on a full stomach.

The ice cream was homemade by locals in Co. Wexford. It was put on display in the middle of the restaurant. So tempting! I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes. If you’re wanting to know more, check out their website here. They also are available to deliver if you’re local.
