Dose of Colors x ILUVSARAHII Collaboration

Dose of Colors ILUVSARAHII Collaboration via Sarenabee.com

When I went into Ulta a few weeks back, I noticed that Dose of Colors was conveniently now sold in stores. I kept hearing great things, but never purchased anything. As I was browsing their collection – the Block Party single shadows caught my attention. I had not yet seen them, nor heard of them. I swatched a few and fell in love. The top two favorites of mine were Teal Me More and Shell We Dance. Yes, two completely different sides of the color spectrum, but none the less, they were stunning! As I went to reach for them, both shades were sold out. I guess it was a sign because a single eyeshadow for $20… no thanks! I figured I would just order online or wait to get a discount code before my purchase. Right when I opened Safari is when I saw the newest launch pop-up. It was the ILUVSARAHII x Dose of Colors Collaboration. I didn’t and still don’t know how to pronounce the name, but here are my thoughts on it!

For starters, the ILUVSARAHII packaging is SO cute. Palm leaves, yup – count me in! There’s something about palm printed items that make me so happy, probably because of leaving Florida for colder weather in Ireland, but who knows? I decided to wait until the morning of the launch to purchase it, knowing how many people order collaborations and just like that, they’re all sold out, I didn’t want to risk it. I was not aware that they would be sold in Ulta stores or if Dose of Colors would even restock – both of which are true. After I reviewed the collection, I thought I would be sensible and only buy the highlighters and palette. Shipping was very instant and I had my items within the next three days.

Opening the box to unwrap these ILUVSARAHII goodies, I couldn’t hardly wait. I started watching everyones reviews beforehand with the classic teal shade all over the lid. Getting a palette with 6 shades instead of 1 made more sense to me. I was a bit surprised with the size of the palette, theres nothing wrong with it at all, I just assumed it would be much bigger. The pans are about the same size as the individual shades and the palette is compact – so I will be traveling with it.

The shades do have names written on the back of the palette, however I’m unsure of which correlates with each pan so I won’t be able to give full descriptions in fear of getting them wrong. I have heard people saying they can’t create one entire look with the palette, and I’m here to say that – yes, yes you can. The two mattes are pigmented and easy to blend while the shimmers/glitters pack a punch and go on like a dream. The palette itself isn’t necessarily a must-have, but if you like the colors – I suggested that you go ahead and do yourself a favor. Get it. I can think of worse things I’ve spent $35 on.

Now on to the highlighters, which is when I wished I could have purchased in the store, because they both came shattered. Unlike the eyeshadow palette – there are two ILUVSARAHII highlighters with big pans. Also they have clear names. There is Sol Mate, a more golden highlight and Bathe, a more pinkish highlight. The highlights both look really dark in the packaging. Honestly I didn’t even want to try it because I didn’t want my face to look dirty. The finger swatches I did were heavily concentrated and rather dark, but I was pleasantly surprised seeing them on my skin tone. They are very creamy! Back to the smashed highlighters, the customer service of Dose of Colors was great. They responded right away and FedEx’d me out two new highlighters right away. A+ service.
